Eligibility Criteria for SSC Stenographer 2025
Educational Qualification
12th Pass (10+2) students are eligible for Stenographer examination. No work experience is required but proficiency in stenography is mandatory for the Skill Test. The educational qualification certifucate must be completed on or before the closing date of the application (26 June 2025).
Age Limit (as of 01 August 2025)
- Stenographer Grade C: 18 to 30 years
- Stenographer Grade D: 18 to 27 years
Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as below:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwD (Unreserved): 10 years
- Ex-Servicemen: 3 years
Nationality Requirements
Applicants must be:
- Indian citizens, or
- Subjects of Nepal/Bhutan, or
- Tibetan refugees
- Persons of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, or East African countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.

The selection process consists of two stages:
