The selection of candidates in NT Recruitment is based on a two-tier examination system which consists of MCQ (Paper-I) and Urdu proficiency test (Paper-II). Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates must hold a graduation degree from a recognized university with working knowledge of Urdu. Proficiency in Urdu will be tested via Paper-II which includes translation, essay writing and comprehension.
Age Limit
- Open Merit (OM): 18–40 years
- Reserved Categories (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/RBA/ALC/IB): Maximum 43 years
- Ex-Servicemen: Up to 48 years
- PwBD: Relaxation up to 42 years
Application Process
- Online Registration: Visit JKSSB’s portal from June 16 to July 15, 2025.
- Fee Payment: Pay via net banking/debit/credit card (₹600 for General, ₹500 for SC/ST/EWS/PwBD).
- Document Upload: Submit scanned copies of:
- Domicile Certificate
- Graduation Marksheet
- Category Certificate (if applicable)
- Final Submission: Save PDF of Submitted NT Application from and take a printout for Future work.

Selection Process
Paper-I (Objective):
- 120 marks | 2 hours
- Sections: General Knowledge (36), J&K-specific GK (24), English (24), IT (18), Mental Ability (18).
- Negative Marking: 0.25 per wrong answer.
- Cutoff: 20% for OM, 15% for reserved categories.
Paper-II (Urdu Proficiency):
- 50 marks | 1 hour
- Qualifying nature; candidates must score 40% (OM) or 35% (reserved).
Final Merit: Based on Paper-I scores. Interview is exempted as per S.O 36 of 2025.
